If you are running a non-internet connected IP net, you will have to run a 'top level' domain name server, and to be smart, you'll need a second DNS at a 2nd stable site as back up; the DNS mite best be operated by your local only network organization. If you are running 'top level' DNS, you may create your own top leval domains. Make SURE there is not going to be any Internet links on your system before you do this. If you do and your system is intrajurisdictional, you might want a .per domain for personally operated sites., a .part domain for unincorporated partnerships. etc. *
